  • Paris A. Hajali, Ph.D., P.E., LEED AP

    President

    Dr. Hajali has over 30 years of experience in environmental and civil engineering, focused mainly on the assessment and clean-up of contaminated sites. Dr. Hajali uses a systems approach to project management, stressing efficiency in design and in project execution. Spending much of his career applying leading-edge remediation technologies, he has provided engineering support to dozens of major aerospace, defense, and developer clients and has special knowledge of the complex environmental permitting process.

    Dr. Hajali exhibits recognized expertise in the field of environmental litigation support and expert reports/testimony, including involvement in cases that have required the contribution of millions of dollars in third-party negotiations and settlement cases.
  • Jeremy R. Squire, P.E., QSD, QISP

    Vice President

    As the operations leader and senior project manager with Murex Environmental, Inc., Mr. Squire has 20 years of experience in cleanup, reuse and rebuilding of former industrial properties. He is an expert in environmental site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental regulatory negotiation and permitting. Mr. Squire has completed projects under the oversight of the EPA, DTSC, RWQCB, LADBS, LAHHMD, San Diego DEH, OCHCA, AQMD, and many other State and local agencies and municipalities. He leverages these relationships on behalf of his clients to clear sites and move building projects and property transactions forward.

    Areas of particular expertise include Brownfields redevelopment (i.e., rebuilding on contaminated properties), addressing contamination at plating facilities, and innovative approaches to site cleanup at active aerospace facilities.
  • Kent Vollmer, P.G., C.E.G.

    Senior Project Manager

    As a senior project manager and senior geologist with Murex, Mr. Vollmer has 20 years of experience in environmental due diligence, planning, site assessment, remediation planning, and regulatory compliance. Mr. Vollmer has completed projects under the oversight of local, state, and federal environmental agencies in addition to performing regulatory oversight for projects involving major oil companies, redevelopment agencies, and industrial facilities. Mr. Vollmer has overseen hundreds of environmental projects within the Southern California area and has an intimate and extensive knowledge of the local geology and hydrogeology. This knowledge has been instrumental in determining and achieving methods towards both assessing and remediating subsurface contamination.

    In addition, Mr. Vollmer has extensive experience overseeing the installation of wells in Southern California. He understands the unique lithology and aquifers present in the Los Angeles and Orange County basins and uses that understanding to present complex hydrogeologic concepts in conceptual site models, aiding the regulatory staff in the comprehension of site data.
  • Stavro Pilafas

    Senior Client Manager

    Stavro Pilafas is a senior environmental scientist and project manager with a proven track record of over 20 years of experience effectively and successfully executing groundwater and soil assessment and remediation projects for a diverse set of clients in the private sector. He commands a breadth and depth of knowledge in various groundwater monitoring and soil investigation and sampling methods, health and safety protocols, chemical constituents of concern, and laboratory analyses. He cultivates collaborative relationships with internal and external clients, and regulators including the RWQCB, DTSC, and OCHCA. He retains and grows top clients, and builds and spearheads top-performing teams, providing the guidance, morale, training and support needed to meet and exceed both client and business expectations.
